Previder PaaS+ means you now really only pay for what you use

One of the biggest advantages of the cloud is the 'pay-per-use' promise. This promise is often fulfilled, as you have control over the costs and you are no longer bound to contracts. There is just one downside to this promise, as you’ll often be paying for resources which are of no use to you. That is now a thing of the past thanks to Paas+. You only pay for the resources you use.

What does it mean?

You can choose from a wide variety of sizes when you add a cloud supplier’s virtual machines. The challenge is to find the right one which can keep up with the load and which can expand when capacity needs to be increased. The choice is therefore important, as you cannot order a virtual machine which matches your exact demands. This results in a higher capacity than necessary, which means you will always be overpaying. lf your infrastructure also needs horizontal upscaling - which means more virtual machines are added - the problem will get even worse. The result is multiple virtual machines with unused capacity. The efficiency of this process is also far from ideal. There are providers which provide a sealing factor, but only manually, and no one will do this throughout the day to set the scale every time you use the service.

Luckily there is a solution.

Previder Paas+, our managed cloud platform, allows you to auto-scale your platform. This means your platform is automatically scaled horizontally and vertically. This implies resources can be added whenever an application asks for it. It automatically scales down when the resources are no longer in use. This means you pay for the resources used without compromising performance. The only thing you need to do is set the boundaries.
